Wellington, as befits the capital, leads the way with the, lowest death rate, 9.45 per 1.000. and the highest birth rate, 24.51 per I.COO. of any in the Dominion.’ The honor of the second highest, birth rate d 0.09 per I.OCO, belongs to Christchurch with Auckland, 2-5.55 per 1,000. and Dunedm 2a. oh per 1,000. almost tieiim ,* 0 ,. third place.
