LATE SHIPPING
MAITAI WRECK INQUIRY,
The formal investigation into the circumstances concerning the wreck of the Union Company's steamer Maitai at Rarotonga, on the night of December 25 was commenced at Auckland this morning before Mr C. Kettle. KM. Captains 1- 11. Reid and A , R. Holmes are the assessors. It is expected that the inquiry will extend over several days. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. LYTTELTON.
