The committee have worked assiduously to make the above festival a success. There was every appearance of a, fine nfter-

The event of the day was, of course, the baby show, which created the, keenest interest. His Worship the Mayor i.Mr .1. J. I'larki in his opening remarks referred to the splendid asset Dunedin had in the Ocean Beach, and congratulated the promoters of the show on -their efforts to popularise the beach. 'Hip City Council were, doing all in their power to improve vghc port,on oi the sea front under their control. They were making a point of providing conveniences for the people using the Ocean Beach. They had provided an esplanade, and had now in the (■nurse of erection shelter sheds for the convenience of the public. Fireworks and oilier amusements of a notable hbid are provided for this evening.

Those interested should note that the prizes won at the Mardi Gras will be presented on Monday evening at Mr K. L. Macassoy's office, in Ratt-rav street.
