Messrs Bray Bros., Ltd., of Dunedin, report as follows for tho week ended today Wheat : The Government have now fixed values for milling varieties. Fowlwheat is m short supply, and best whole \yheat meets with a ready sale at quotations. Oats ; Supplies are light, and prime lines aro m good demand. Chaff ; The market is short supplied, and all prime lines are mot with a ready sale at quotations. 1 otatoos^: During the past week supplies have arrived more freely from Canterbury, and values have dropped about £ll per ton. Onions; The consignments have increased the last week, with the result that prices have eased to the extent of £2 per ton. Quotations remain firm from Canterbury, and a further drop in price is not expected for some little time. Fruit: Supplies of practically all fruits from Toviot and Otago , orchards have dropped off considerably the last week, and values have increased Id to 2d per jb. Dessert apples are in short supply, out pears are arriving more frcclv. A small shipment of Island oranges arrived to-day on a good market. Butter : The Government have published the price of factory butter for tho remainder of tho season, and prices will evidently not rise more during the winter than the cost-, of storage ami interest. Milled butter : The last few days has shown a rise in tire Home market, but it is 100 early yet to give an accurate indication as t-o "what winter prices will bo. Cheese : There is every prospect of Home shipments being more regular in future. Tho market i; firm at quotations. The following prices were realised during the week ; Wheat.—Best fowl, 5s 9J per bushel. Oats.—A Cartons, 5s Id per bushel (ex store) ; A Sparrows, 3s per bushel. Chafi. Prime oaten sheaf, £4 10s nor ton. ' 1 Potatoes. —Local, Id per lb; Oamaru, 8s 6<l per cwt. Onions.—Canterbury. £8 10s to £9 per ton. Bran. £4 5s per ton. Pollard, £6 7s 6d ner ton. Maize, 6s per bushel. Bacon, per-lb (short supply). Cheese.—Matured mediums, per lb; new season’s mild mediums, 10d per lb. kggs. Stamped, Is 7d per dozen; cased. Is 6d per dozen. Butter.—Creamery bulk, Is 4yd per lb; creamery pats, Is 5d per lb; dairy and separator pats, lid to Is per ib (market easy).
Beeswax. Is 3d per lb. Honey.—lolb tins, 4s 6d ner tin. Apples.—Otago Central dessert, 4d to 5d per lb; cooking, l.'.d to 2d per lb.
