THE HOSTAGE QUESTION.
WASHINGTON, February 16
The United States has issued a formal protest against the detention of the Yarrowdale sailors. It will be forwarded to Berlin to-morrow through the. Spanish Embassy, and will take the form : f a, peremptory demand. Berlin is to he informed that no German crews are bein' held in America.
A breach with Austria is regarded as only a question of time.
