The enemy stubbornly hold their positions on tne river Ceniuvka (near Halicz). Russian gunboats on the Danube bombarded the Bulgarian left flank near Bassova. Our offensive in the region cf Basova, Kabaden, and Egervele coutivnes. GREECE.
VOLUNTEERS FIGHTING ON STRUMA. ANTI-FRENCH DEMONSTRATION IN ATHENS. LONDON, October 4. (Received October 5, at 12.50 p m.’ The ‘Daily Chronicle’s’ Alliens respondent states that the reservist leagues are causing disturbances i n that city. They stoned some French motor cars, and the French marines dispersed them vs ilh ■bayonets. Others outside the residence of M. Qounaris fired revolvers at Venezelist sympathisers, wounding two. The 1 Daily Chronicle’s ’ correspondent at Canea (Crete) states that three officers were arrested for bringing Macedonian greetings to the Provisional Government. Greek volunteers arc already fighting in co-operation with the English on the Struma. M. Venezelos, replying to a prominent Athenian, stated that, in the event of Greece declaring war on Bulgaria and the formation of a new Cabinet, he did not desire to make or to participate in the making of a Cabinet, but he would willingly help any Ministry that was acceptable to the Entente.
