ROYALLY RECEIVED

NEW ZEALAND SUCCESSES AT RAND WICK. KILBOY'S HANDSOME WIN. Press Association—By Telegrapli—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. SI DNEY, October 4. (Received October 4, at 12.15 p.m.) The success of Kilboy at Randwick did not come altogether as a surprise, and it was well received. The ‘ Telegraph cays the son of Kilbroney won the Derby'- in the best style, and with none the best of the luck. A hundred yards from homo M Lauchlan called upon his mount for a final effort. Kilboy drew out in a few strides. Eastcaurt and Colbert also responded, but Kilboy gradually increased his lead ; and ran home a winner to the accompaniment of the heartiest applause, which was .renewed as he returned to the paddock. Describing the Spring Stakes, the same paper says: When Prince lUrdolph retired Sasanof was left in front with a length lead of Bee, and though the latter came on bravely when the pressure was applied in the final stage she was not able to wipe out all the deficit. The ‘ Herald ’ describes Kilboy's victory as a fine finish and a handsome win. Bee (it says) fought out the finish in the Spring Stakes with great determination. She got almost level with Sasanof at the halfdistance, the latter winning by a narrow margin. Chelonm ran well in the early stages of the Kensington Handicap, but only managed to secure fifth place'. The prospects for to-morrow’s meeting are gloomy, torrential rain again falling.
