Ihe Hospital Saturday Association have arranged a street collection. as a final effort in connection with their art ymoa organised in aid of the Belgian children and Belgian doctors and pharmacists’ imid. In yesterday’s cables it was reported that at a meeting at which the -Lord Mayor of London presided the, Belgian Consul stated that relief for the Belgians was more pressing than ever, and doubtless the sympathy of our citizens mil go out to the poor starving, children who bfceu brought to their present oiroumstances through the great stand the Belgian nation made against the Huns during in e early stages of- the -war. Wo should icahso how much wo owe to Belgium for nolrling back the Gormans during the first JGW weeks of the war, and we should all " e willing to make some sacrifice to help tiie poor Belgians. The doctors end pharmacists are also in need or assistance, they having lost all v lnstrunl ® r -l B .' hooks, and medicines ; . “ lese gallant men have remained at taerr posts, and are relieving the sufferers m a most noble manner with the small tacihties they now have. Our Empire is endeavoring to assist these men by procuring new instruments and medicines to assist them in their work, and we are confident that this object will also appeal strongly to our citizens. 11
