Miss M'Callum, one of Dunedin's most gifted soloists, will sing; ' Mia Piccirella' and Tosti's 'Good-bye.' The orchestral programme includes overture 'Le Caid,' a bright and sparkling work; interinezzo_ ' Loin du Bal,' for muted strings, with 'cello solo; Beethoven's ' Symphony No. 1'; ' Hansel and Gretel' overture, bright and full of melody; and Rossini's selection 'Le Comte Or}*,' which introduces solo work- for flute and clarinet, also a brass quartet. DUFAULT SONGS,

The charming tenor voice and .perfect artistry of Paul Dufault are vividly remembered in New Zealand, as also are the many beautiful songs he introduced to us. Southern music-lovers owe a debt of gratitude to tho famous French-Canadian for the quantity of new musical literature he made known to us and the various composers with whom he made us acquainted. There are numerous songs which will always be associated in our memories with Paul Dufault. The first which comes to the mind is the popular ' Invictus,' which Dufault introduced to us, and which probably caused more comment than any other song of recent years. Another song' which will always be linked with the name of the Canadian tenor is the French march song 'Au Pays.' Then there is Sinding's 'Sylvelin' and the delightful 'Boat Song,' both of which Mr Dufault introduced to us. _ Still other songs too numerous to mention crowd upon the recollection, every one fine, and usually each one bearing a strongly human appeal, for it is in the songs that touch the heart that Dufault has made his greatest successes. Tho box plans for tho season will bo opened at The Bristol on Tuesday morning next, April 18. * b - t
