ROYAL LIFE SAVING SOCIETY

Last Tuesday evening, in tho Municipal Baths, Messrs G. B. Foote and H. M. Restieaus; (examiners of tho Royal Lifesaving Society) examined three candidates for awards of the society. Messrs JamesHouston and Victor T. Low passed tho bronze medallion and the proficiency certificate, and Mr Andrew Findlay passed the instructor's certificate and the teacher's certificate. Also, in the Y.M.C-A. baths, Mrs H. E. Sage passed her bronze medallion and- the proficiency certificate-, Mis R. H. Bligli being the examiner.

Civil marriages, without any religious ceremony, held at a registrar's office> were sanctioned, by.Britain in JLB36.
