WOOLLEN MILLS DISPUTE
SETTLED AT LAST.
WELLINGTON, April 14. The Bet-one. Woollen Mills, which have been idle since March 17, will resume work on Monday.
Tho amended proposals by flu? company were considered during the week by the union, who decided to accept them, subject to the adjustment of some minor details. These have now been amicably settled. The union's demand was for a 10 per cent, all-round increase in wages. The directors first offered 5 per cent., plus a 5 per cent, bonus on earnings to the end of February, and later this offer was amended to one of 10 per cent, for men earning up to 48s weekly and to women earning up to 27s 6d. The points finally agreed upon included the granting of tho increase to women earning up to 55s weekly.
