ANZAC DAY
At a special _ meeting of tho Master Bakers' Association, held last night, it was resolved that the association" regretted their inability to observe Anzac Day, owing to the shortage of labor and to the day (Tuesday, 25th inst.) being attached to tho Easter holidays. At a meeting of the ministers of Port Chalmers, held on Wednesday evening, the following resolution relating'to the observance of "Anzac Day" was, on the motion of the_ Rev. Alex. Whrte, unanimously carried:—"That in the opinion of the ministers of Port Chalmers the celebrations of Anzac Day should be dissociated from any idea of festivity, and confined to exercises appropriate to the conception of a. memorial of tho fallen heroes and to the spirit of fasting and humiliation, in view of the present national distress."
