SOLDIERS’ LETTERS.
Ernest Erridge writes to his mother from llas-el-Tiil Hospital, Alexandria, on July 15:—“ I have been down for nearly four weeks with an attack of enteric fever, and am just about to get on my feet again. I should hot be at all surprised if I am sent back to New Zealand very shortly, but I should prefer to see the end of the war and return with the others.” In a letter to his mother from Alexandria, Ernest Bezett, who was among the wounded, writes;—“lt is terribly hot here just now, but I like this place better than Cairo; it is much cleaner, and has a bigger English community. I paid a visit to the Gneco-Roman Museum the other day-. It has a very fine collection of coins, mummies, curios, etc., ranging from 2,000 to 5,000 years old. Tlieo. Conch is here- with mo., He was wounded in the foot, and we go about everywhere together. By the. time this reaches you I expect I’ll he back doing a bit more. But don’t worry ; I’ll take good care of myself and will take good care to dodge next time.” Received from “F.P.S.” £1 for the Belgian fund.
