The Hanover Street Baptist Debating Society held their final meeting on Monday evening, when the subject “ That the growth of western education in eastern countries is a menace to the white races ” was keenly discussed. The affirmative was taken by Messrs Chard and Goring, and Messrs Parry and Duncumb replied in the negative. The ’question was keenly debated. Tlie final vote resulted- in favor of the negative.
