LONDON, April 13, Tho tension between Austria and Italy lias grown. The Prefect of Trieste has prepared- a proclamation and exhortion to the inhabitants of the Julian-Venctia district to remain calm, as the enemy is on the point of occupying it, and the Austrian administration "ill be. abandoned. It adds that the occupation will be brief. The * < lazctte Del Popola * says present indications are that it is 99 chances in 100 that Italy intervenes. THE FOOD COMMISSION. WELLINGTON, April 14.—N0 date is yet fixed for the meeting of the Food Commission. Probably the Commission will be able to sit as soon as tho present sittings of tho Full Court are ended. The Commission will arrange what -procedure they like to tako evidence at the four centres, and’ possibly at other towns. Special attention will be given to bread, batter, and certain imported lines.
