MINING.

The Secretary of the Nokomni Hydra.nlic Sluicing Company reports that at No. 1 claim a fid! week’s sluicing was done, and good progress was made. At No. 2 a shift, was lost through a slip, but good progress was made with the sluicing last week. The Rise and Shine No. 1 dredge worked a cut of 500 ft last week, mailing 6ft ahead. There was an average depth of 46ft, and the bottom consisted of clay, sandstone, anti a little coal. No. 2 dredge made 16ft ahead on a cut of 200 ft. The. depth ranged from 58ft to 46ft, with coal bottom throughout. There was very little wash, and the prospects were poor.
