Mr Mailey, S.M.. gave judgment today in the case of Barnett am! Co., chemists, who were charged with failing to close their premises in accordance with the Shops and Offices Act. He held that there was no provision tor the sale of medicine or surgical appliances, even when urgently required, outside the gazetted hours. He said the position seemed to bo serious lor chemists, and cither a 1 resit requisition should bo made or the Act amended. He inflicted a nominal line of 5? without costs.
