Over 000,000,000 lettsrs and postcards, which did not include registered letters, were dealt with bv the Commonwealth Postal Department last year. Including parcels ana registered letters, the nainbcr was 800,0Q0,C00. Mr Spence remarked that there- had been a remarkable increase hi letter writing since the introduction of J»nny postfge. ' " '
