"i The Government (it is wired) have purchased 300 tons of flour from a Later.— Tho Government have purcnased 300 tons of Hour from a northern company i'or tho purpose oi supplying the districts where r there is the most serious deficiency. This is mostly in the South Island. The distribution will be carried out by the Wheat-Board. The first consignment i will probably reach Wellington on Wednesday. Regarding the 100,000 , bushels of wheat on the Kaiapoi at Sydney, which has been tho subject of negotiations between the Commonwealth and New Zealand i the Prune Mini ister is a little more sanguine than on Saturday.
