THE SHARE MARKET
DUN ETON EXCHANGE. Waihis were wanted at 39s 3d this mornins, but there were no seller.- under 40s; while holders of Junctions, which were inquired for at 23s 9d. were asking 24s 3d. Inquiry came in for Waitangis at 6<], Banks and insurance shares were again in firm demand, but there, was a marked scarcity of sellers. Union Steams (ord.) were in demand at 21s 6(1, but sellers declined to quit under 22s 6d. Portland Cements were naturally easier, sellers asking Bs, but finding no buyers offering more than ss. Jt is understood, however, that the works were well insured, and no doubt the management will install the most up-to-date machinery when rebuilding. The company would appear to have had their fair share of misfortune. Quotations: —
