Notwithstanding that the Judge in Ids instructions to the jury held that tho defendant was shown by the evideiiee to have committed murder, Mrs Florence M'Gowan was found not guilty of the charge of having murdered J. Lo Roy Brown, the jury sustaining the " unwritten law" plea'of the defence. Spectators ' cheered the verdict. Brown was shot and killed in the court room at Pcnsaeola. Florida, after he had wronged Mrs M'Oov.-an's daughter.
