The monthly meeting of the South Otago District Lodge of the 1.0.0. F. wax -held at Albany Street Hal! on Thursday evening, district Deputy Grand Master Bro. T. K. Hose-ear presided over a good attendance of members, including Bro. Hinton \Grand Treasurer) and Bros. Patterson. Swinton, and Smith (Pact District Deputies). The Degree Master (Bro. Ritchie) conferred degress on the several applicants, candidates being present from Linden, St. Kilda, and Leith Lodge?. The Degree Master reported on a recent visit he had made, accompanied by his officers, to Hereweka Lodge, *t Portibello. After conferring degrees, they had been most gen-srousiy entertained by the Hererreka brothere, and spenta vary enjoyable evenin}];. Many matt?!'* of interest tame up for discussion, including Handbook and Social Committee reports, Easter Monday picnic, installation.?, Grand Ledge representatives' expenses; initiation competitions, etc. ; but in spite- of the heavy agenda paper business was promptly despatched, and lodge closed by 10 jj.m.
