The Turakina. en route from Wellington to London, arrived at Montevideo on Tuesday. Captain A. 11. Davey took command nt' the Kamona at Wellington on Tuesday, relieving Captain J. Scott, who came ashore on transfer. The Atua left Sydney last night for Auckland in place of the Maheno. The Niagara takes the sailing back from Auckland to Sydney on Monday next. The Union Company's steamer Waitemata is due at Wellington in a few days. and is bringing 12,090 bushels of Canadian wheat. The Niagara, which is due to arrive at Auckland on Monday, is also bringing 10.000 bushels from Vancouver for tha northern port. Owing to the examination steamer at the Wellington Heads requiring a pilot always in attendance, it has been found necessarv to retain the services of the deputy "harbor master. Captain Shilling, who was to have retired last Thursday on superannuation. The examination steamer has thrown a heavy burden on the pilot staff, who are amply engaged without extra work. The Italian ship Antonio Padre, bound from Marseilles to Brisbane with a cargo of tiles, has put into Bunhury in trouble. She left Marseilles on August 9, and in a prolonged passage of 132 days ran short fif fresh provisions.
