Among the investment stocks, National Banks, which were quoted ex div., met with inquiry a.t 100s; while there was also a demand for Union Hanks at 53s l.Od and Rank of Australasia, at £ll2. Buyers were offering 47s for National Insurance and 85s for South British, but in neither case was there a. declared seller. Union. Steams and Westport Coals met with inquiry at closing figures, but there were no sellers this morning;. New Zealand Drugs were in demand at -12s and Mosgiel Woollens at 70s; while buyers of New Zealand Portland Cements were offering 8x against 13s—a wide quote.
