A FATAL ACCIDENT.
■ " •'» ' ■ Our Bluff correspondent telephoned tin's afternoon :—Andrew Strachan, 47, a carpenter on the American four-masted schooner William Bowden, was killed on board the vessel this afternoon. He joined the boat at the Bluff three days ago. It appears that Strachan was uncoupling a hose, which came away unexpectedly, and deceased fell backwards into the forchatch, a distance of 20ft. He was killed instantly.
