ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
On Sunday morning a serious motor car accident happened on the Montcre Hills (Nelson). In taking a curve Ibo car went over the side of the road, and fell into a gulls' about AOit deep, turning two somersaults. The occupant'! were thrown in .<ll directions. Several doctors proceeded to the. scene, and the. injured were taken to Nelson. George r.axW. ajrr>d 46 year*, a Swede, was found dead at Tokomnru Bay, v.ifh a. wound over' his heart and a. repeating rifle alongside him. A message from Dannevirke state; that ('•run IhilloPii. aaed 15 year-, was killed in a, bugpy accident on the Orniondviile road on Sunday. The brakes of a vehicle, driven by Mr P. Nikoliason refused to act. and the. buggy was dashed against, a bridge. The other occupants were badly shaken, and Mr Nikoliason sustained a fractured arm. Miss Pallesen came from Papakura. .■sii Invereargiil jrwssage states that John Daniel M'Farlane (45), who has been missing from his home at Waikiwi, was found in Thomson'!? Bush with his jugular vein severed. It is apparently a case of suicide. Vjilford Albert-son, a small boy, had a narrow escape from drowning at Port Chalmers on Saturday. He fell from a boating jetty, and was in difficulties, when a lad named Victor Pistor, who has previously rendered similar assistance in cases of mishap, dived in with his clothes on and brought the other lad, who was in a partially-exhausted state, safely to the •hor*
