[Pes Unitkd Press Association.] CHR-ISTCHURCH, January 2. The following are the results of the seventh round: Barnes v. Hicks (Centre Counter Game). —Barnes won the exchange and two pawns at move 38, and Hicks resigned 12 moves later. Kelling v. Dodds (Ruy Lopez).—Dodds gave up a rook for a knight and two pawns, getting a strong attack, which Kelling staved off, and won on the 29th move. Grierson v. Buckett (Ruy Lopez).— Buckett blundered badly in the defence, and resigned on the 14th move. Pleasants v. C. F. Fox (Centre Counter Game).—Pleasants lost a piece through a slip at move 13, and resigned at once. Severne v. Mara (Three Knights Game). —Severne. won a- queen for a rook on the 38tirmove, arid Mara resigned two moves later. G. B. Fox v. Hill.---Hill scored by default. Moore, a bye.
