On Tuesday evening; Pionaer Lodgs, 1.0.0. F., held their last meeting for 1914. .Regular and quarterly business having been disposed of, P.G.M. Bro. Thomas Colo presided over some 50 Oddfellows, including a fair number of visitors and representatives of Grand Lodge of New Zealand, in the persons of Bros. Win. Reid, G.S., and J. H. Hinton, G.T. Bro. Cole expressed satisfaction at again being allowed the opportunity of welcoming to Pioneer Lodge some of his oldest friends in the 1.0.0. F. Unfortunately, as time went on these were being thinned out. He missed the late G.T. Bro. Alexander, Tho. Springer, and others, but was glad indeed to see so many veterans that evening. He recalled a meeting of 600 veterans, at which he had been present as a privileged guest, during a visitsome time ago to tho home of the Order. Pioneer Lodge officers were first elected for the ensuing term as follows:—N.G., Bro. John Skinner; V.G., Bro. J. L. Park; secretary, Bro. F. M'Arthur; treasurer, Bro. G. Latimer; audit committee —P.G.s Bros. J v Duncan, W. Kilpatrick, and R. M'Kinlay. During the evening the aspirants for election as Grand Lodge representatives for 1915 Auckland session (Bros. W. Homan, L. Ritchie, W. Smith, W. Kilpatrick, and D. Swinton) addressed the meeting, briefly putting forward their particular claims for consideration, also indicating the manner of treatment of the matter on the order paper for the session. Their remarks were interspersed with songs from Bros. J. H. Hint-on, J. Skinner, E. Rix, W. Smith, and R. M'Kinlay, Bro. M. Glover accompanying; a recitation was given by Bro. Henderson. Refreshments were partaken of. Votes of thanks to the chair, to those who had contributed to the harmony of the evening, and the visitors brought responses, including some interesting little anecdotes from P.G.M. Bro. Cole, G.T. Bro. Hinton (Grand Lodge), P.G. Bro. L. D. Ritchie (Leith), P.G. Bro. Homan (Unity), P.G. Bro. Smith (Linden), P.D.D.G.M. Bro. Pattison, P.D.D.G.M. Bro. Swinton, and P.G. Bro. C. M'P«_k.
