MELBOURNE, January 1,
The body of a woman named Lucy Gorman has been found in a house in Johnson street, Richmond, apparently battered to death. The rooms were in disorder, and the. bedclothes soaked with blood. A search of Gorman's house revealed that the tragedy was the result of a drunken orgy, Enipty beer bottles, which littered the rooms, indicate that the crime was committed several days ago. No weapon was found. It is believed that the victim was battered with a beer bottle, and after the attack wandered through the rooms, and finally collapsed chair, where she was found.
