■SOUTH OTAGO TOUR-NAMEOT. Tlie .South Otago Bowling Centre's annual tournament was commenced yesterday morning on (lie lialelutlni and Kaitangata greens. Tho day was devoted to. the Rinks. A stron.a' interfered considerably with the play. The method of play has been altered this year. Instead cf rising the sectional system, which had been in vogue at tin;, tournament for many years, it was decided to adopt a system which comprised two separate competitions. The first round, which does not count in the competitions, was for the purpose of deciding whether the players should enter the Balclutha Rinks or Stirling Rinks competition. The winners entered the Balclutlia Rinks, aitd the losers the Stirling Rinks, in wMch they remained for the subsequent three (round's. This system was adopted on both the Balclutha and Kaitangata Greens. The winners in each of the competitions on each green will take part in the final, to be. decided on Monday on the Balclutha. The.Christmas tournament of the Auckland Centre of ihe Dominion Bowling Association was brought to a conclusion yesteiday, when M.> Walker's Ponsonby rink defeated D. Harvey's Devonport rink by 21 points to 19 in* the final of tho Pennant Mutch.
