Tho Geological Society's monument to Captain Scott was unveiled by Dr bkattum, a i.<inn, vice-president of the society. Dr Skattum described Captain Scott's death-march, as the highest display of physical and mental energy. The monument, he said, was intended to symbolise, the nobility and tho high, ideals of heroes.
