During the game on Saturday afternoon on the Dunedin Green play was discontinued for 10 minutes as a mark of respect to tho memory of their brother bowler, Jas. F. Farra, who passed away during the week. Tho president of the club (Mr W. Emory), in calling attention to tho matter, spoke as follows :—“ I can see that you feel with me tho shadow that lies over us to-day. I refer to the death of our friend and fellow-bowler James Fawcett Farra. He was of a kind, gentle, sunny disposition, quiet and unassuming, and was in truth one of Nature’s .gentlemen. Our vice-president, with Mr David Robertson, have already expressed the feelings of the club by

calling upon the family, and four of our members attended the funeral this mom-" ing. I shall now ask you to cease play for five minutes, and to pass, standing and in silence, a vote of condolence and deepest sympathy with his widow ‘and family in their hour of trial and bereavement.”
