THE WOOL SALES.
LONDON, December 16. (Received December 17, at U.bO p.m.} The wool sales have closed. There was good competition for all crossbreds at the highest rates of the series, finer sorts making exceptionally Wh figures good, shafty combing merinos were 10 per cent, below Novemberg pikes and short, inferior, carbonising sorts generally 20 per cent. Lambs— Cross-breds were scarce, and made famine prices; merinos were plentiful, and maintained November closing values.
