The Hope of Dunedin Lodge, 1.0.G.T , held their weekly meeting on Friday evening in tho lodgo room Moray Place, the C.T. presiding. One candidate was initiated and received a hearty welcome Correspondence was received from Bro. Brennau, Christchureh. endorsing a conv of tho ' South Island Guide l .' The result of tho recent elections and No-license polls was commented upon by several reports presented, and although several
champions of the cause had been unsuccessful, satisfaction was expressed that a majority for Prohibition had been cast and that, but for the unfair handicap, would now bo tho Jaw of tho land. As a majority of members had been elected who are favorable to a reduction of the handicap to at least 55 per cent., right would ultimately prevail. It was J brothers' night and they gave an enter- ! tainment of songs, and fruit and confec--1 tions handed round. They received I a vote of thanks. Sister Gain and others responded to tlia visitors' vote.
