SUBURBAN STREETS.

I TO THE EDITOR. Mir, —Comparing the suburbs of Dunedhi with those of other cities, one cannot help being much struck by tho neglected appearance of many of our streets. Particularly is this noticeable in the case of Edward street, St. Clair, one side of which, although it has five houses upon it, is absolutely without footpath of any description, the' residents having to plough to their homes through mud and 6lush, whilst tho other side is neither kerbed nor channelled, and presents a most untidy appearance. Surely at the present time, when such an outcry is being raised concerning want of employment, something could be dono in this matter.—l am, etc., Suburbia. December 14.
