No!” has become one of the war cries of Tommy Atkins in France, and it has sncb a wholly British sound in the French ear that it has been translated and enthusiastically adopted by the soldiers of the Republic. The French rendering is: “ Est-ce que nous avons ,Ie cceur brise? Non!” It is said that the French soldier’s full-longed “Non!” is quite as effective as Tommy’s tremendous “No I”
