The Rise and Shine No. 1 dredge made 6ft ahead last week', working a cut 500 ft wide, with »n average depth of 46ft. The coal bottom had almost disappeared, and fairly good prospects were got on a bottom of day and sandstone. No. 2 dredge worked 16ft ahead on a cut of 170i't, with an average depth of 46ft. There was no important change in the character of the ground.
