MELBOURNE, December 9. The death is reported of Mr J. A. Arthur, Minister of Internal Affairs. SYDNEY, December 9. ■Walter Browning, accountant, recently in the employ of the Lothringer Company, wool buyers, was charged with forgery. The police gave evidence that the defendant's forgeries extended over a period of three years, and totalled £3,647. He was remanded on bail totalling £3,000. The Cabinet has decided to go on with the Norton Griffiths scheme, taking full responsibility without consulting Parliament.
