THE SAUCY BADGER'S JOKE.
One of the crew of the destroyer Badger thus describes how she rammed and sank a German submarine in the North Sea: "Wo were cruising oif the Dutch coast, when suddenly there appeared a suspicious object right ahead. Commander I'reemautle gave the order to ram the enrmv, and we raced upon her at full speed.' The submarine went down under our bows, and as the Badger drew otf our guns fired parting shots into her.'' The Badger was afterwards setit to Shecrness under the escort of a destroyer, hut had received sin hj injury (hat she was able to show a clean pair of heels to her less speedy escort.
