ALCOHOL AND TOBACCO REAR THE BURDEN. I’rc-vs Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. MELBOURNE, Do, ember 4. The tariff increases are : Excise on beer from 5d to 6d per gallon, while bottled beer is increased from Is 6d to 2s. with an additional 6d against tiie foreigner and fid cn beer in bulk. On British beer the increase amounts f-o 8d per gallon. The duties on have been increased by ?6 per gallon, sparkling wine from ]2s to 20s per gallon, manufactured (oharco Inm os fid to 4f per ]b. A duly has also been placed on Ijif tobacco.
