ENEMY STRUGGLE HARD,
REPULSED NEAR LODZ
PETROORAD, December 2. Official: The fighting in the Lowicz district is lesa intense.
Towards midnight the enemy, marching in closo order, violently attacked the Russian positions northward of Lodz, but were repulsed.
LODZ BATTLE OVER.
ROME, December 3.
A Petrograd message in the 'Giornale dTtalia' says it is reported that the battle of Lodz ended in the Germans retiring, after losing 300,000 men. [This message is issued with all reserve.]
