The secretary of the Nokomai Hydraulic Sluicing Company reports that No. 1 bad a full week's sluicing, and fair progress has been made. An additional return of 3oz 16dwt was obtained from No. 2, making a total of 640z 13dwt for the paddock. A start was made on Saturday to strip off the top material. No. 5 had & wash-up, the return being 141oz 3dwt. The Rise and. Shine No. 1 dredge worked under the usual conditions last week, and got fairly good prospects on a coal and clay bottom. No. 2 dredge made 16ft ahead on a cut of 170 ft. A few large stones were coining in, otherwise there was no appreciable change in the ground.
