BUSINESS TAKEN OYER BY PUBLIC TRUSTEE. A Gazette Extraordinary announces that tho Public Trustee has been appointed by tho Government to control the business of tho Continental C and G.. Rubber Company, Limited, who have been carrying on business in New Zealand since tho commencement of the present war with Germany. This action was taken under tho Way- Regulations Act, 1914, the AttorneyGeneral .being satisfied that not less than half tho company's fharo capital is held by or on behalf of alien enemies. THE OVERSEAS CLUB. The Wowing donations to tho Otago school children's Christmas fund for the Belgian children are acknowledged by the Dunedin Committee: —From the pupils of the Enfield School, 245; Stirling. 6s 6d; Kokonga, lis; Matakanui, 9s; Reonioana. 3s 4d ; Waitaki South, 10s; and Hampden, 265.
