NEW CATHEDRAL BOARD
Tho Committee of Management will present the following report to the New Cathedral Board at Monday’s meeting ’ , We have received the plans for the portion of the new building at the Moray place cud. The Building Committee, upon going into the matter with tho architect’s representative (Mr B. B. Hooper), found that the cost ol building the same _ would exceed the money at the committee's disposal, and therefore finally decided, with the concurrence of your committee and the Cathedral Chapter, to commence at the Octagon end, and arrangements are being made to pull down _ the present building with a view to laying the foundations of the new- cathedral at once. Tho statement of receipts and expendifare from the commencement* of the fund shows the total receipts to have been £18,869 6s 4d and the total expenditure £1,420 3s Bd, leaving a balance in hand of £17,449 2s Bd. To which must be added; Outstanding promises. £1.372 15s Id; S.P.C.K. grant, £1,000; Mr G. G. Russril. £’ "RT Total, £20,821 17s 9d. The deputy trustee states that the present value of tho Harrop bequest is approximately £33,000. The exchange of land between tho Diocesan Trust Board and the City Council has been completed. The. following vacancies have occurred in tho of Management Von. Archdeacon Neild and Rev. E. D. Evans, who resigned on leaving the diocese; and Rev. Canon CurzonKipgers. Messrs C. C. Graham S. Brent S. T. Mirams, W- T. Talboys, F O.'Bridgeman, T. W. Kemp tho me, and J. Lethbridge, who retire in accordance with tho articles, but are eligible for re-election. Mr J. hj. Graham, the auditor, also retires, but offers himself for re-election.
