The third ri the series of euchre-dance socials now beinc run by the South Otago Di&tTiofc Social Cbiwuittee. 1.0.0. F., was held at the Linden Lodge room. Roslyu, on 'Wednesday night. The popularity of thesft social* was evidenced by the fact that th* capacity of the hall was taxed to it* utmost limits. Six gam-s of euchre were played. The winners oi the prizes ■were Mr» Westhead and Bio. Reid. Those who "Ot the booby prizes were Sister Douglas and Bro. Brown. Refreshments were then dispensed, after which dancing „ccmntfinced and was continued until the early hours. The enjoyment of the evening was greatlv enhanced" by musical items, rendered "by Mrs W. Reid, Sisters Gibson and Smith, and Bro. W. Smith. A young lady visitor also favored the company with a Scotch recitation, which was much appreciated.
