A little gold could be seen in the ore broken from No. 2 reef. Occidental Consolidated mine. ITiann’ft. last week. In the stope from the winze below No. 5 level, some nice-looking ore was showing, but no gold v.ns seen when breaking down. A few gooff dabs of gold were seen amongst the ore obtained from the Occidental reef. The manager of the Watchman mine. Tarani. reports that hist week a total of 50ft was driven in the main level. The portion of the reef broken out measur'd about 4ft wide. In the stupe south of No. 1 rise the reef nieasmed 2ft wide, and occasionally showed gold and sulphide. In No. 8 slope, north of No. 4 rise, the reef was 4!t wide, and was practically ail quartz, with gold showing freely at intervals. During the month of October, the Talisman Consolidated Cold Mining Company crashed and treated 4.530 tens of ore for a return of bullion valued at £23,195 11s 7d. The costs for the month amounted to 47s Id per ton. made up as follows: —■ Mine development, 16s; mining. 16s 4d ; milling, 12s lOd ; and general. Is lid. Compared with the return for the. corresponding month of last year, the present return shows an increase of £9Bl 2s Sd. The total amount of bullion won from the mine to date is £2.330.513 Is 6d. The board of directors of the company have declared a dividend, the 40th, of Is 9d per share, and a bonus cf 3d per share, payable on December P. to all shareholders registered on November 19. The last dividend, paid on September 8. amounted to niffy Is 3d per Chare, and there waft no lioni's. The payment of the dividend and bonus on December 8 will absorb £34,500. and will bring the total dividend* and bonuses naid since icconstniction to £965.534 7s 6d.
