LAW DEFIERS FINED

Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright

SYDNEY, November 12.

In conneclion with the dispute arising out of the afternoon shift, Arbitration Judge Heydon imposed fines amounting to £2.500 upon the Colliery Employees’ Federation and tbs officials.

Referring to previous injunctions forbidding officials to aid in a strike, His Honor said: “A more formal, explicit, deliberate, and continuous defiance of the law it was impossible to conceive. The members and officials of the federation hare shown complete and absolute contempt for the provisions of the Act, and if this is not a case for the maximum penalty there never wid be a case.”
