Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. WASHINGTON, November 5. The Congressional election returns show that the Democratic majority in the House of Renrcsentati ves has been reduced from KH to 20. New Vork State wo.nt overwbelnmtgiy Republican, and Mr Whitman beat Mr Glyn for the Governors/np easily. The Congressional representation of New Jersey has changed from nine Democrats and threo Republicans to eight Republicans and four Democrats, the majority being wiped out. The Democrats, however, are likely to retain their majority in the Senatorial electrons. L'This is the* most important aspect of the elections.—Ed. E.S.] Mr Roosevelt’s third parly suffered a dobade, the Progressive vote having apparently returned to the Republicans. The elections show that 229 Democrats, 197 Republicans, 7 Progressives, 1 ist, and 1 Independent have been elected to the House of Representatives. Four returns are still to come.
