The Canterbury Jo’key Club's Spring Meeting opened in beautiful weather. Yesterday's rain had taken the sting out of the course, which is in excellent order. Glcnorchy and Otatara made the early running, but at the six-furlong past Daylight Bill ran to the front, Fashion Plato falling. Kilmeny and Carrie moved tip rounding the turn. Snapdragon was first out, but Troon and Banian joined her, and Troon led into the straight. At the distance Hyettus caughi tlui leader.-, winning by a length, with Banina a head away. 'Time, Imin 56^-ec.
