SALES OF WORK.

A sale of work for the purpose of raising funds to meet tho expenses incurred in the repairing of the steeple of the First Church and other necessary works was opened in the Burns Hall this afternoon, and ■will be continued this evening and to-morrow afternoon and evening. Tho summer festival and sale of work in aid of the church, and manse fund of tho South Dunedin Presbyterian Church was opened by His Worship the Mayor of St. Kilda (Mr W. T. M'Farlane) this afternoon. A number of attractive and well-stocked stalls have been and an entertainment will be provided each evening.
